Some of the best birria and cheese tacos are in small hole in the wall places in LA. Used to have to make mental notes that when in LA had to chase various vendors for their birria and cheese tacos. No more. I have an equally good product here in San Diego at Yesenia's. I had 3 of their birria and cheese tacos with a side of consome and it was the most satisfying lunch. These are only served on Monday's so make sure you mark it on your calendar. The staff is friendly and courteous. One of the highlight food experiences we've had during pandemic. Will go back to sample other things from the menu but if their other food is as good as these tacos, then add this place to the rotation because they were delicious. Every bite as good as the last.

Had a carne asada burrito and it was very good! Lots of meat in it, and was quite a large shell too! Very good seasoned flavored Carne Asada. Quick service too.

This food was legit. So much flavor packed in. Friendly service. Prices are very reasonable. If you are in mission valley this should be a place you check out. I was here for 4 days and it was the best food I've had in years!!

My first time eating here was last April of 2021. I had never had birria tacos and the establishment just popped out as the place to try them. Being that I’m from Louisiana I don’t know much about them. So while on a little vacation here to Cali visiting my daughter I tried. They were so amazing. So fast forward to last Friday April 8th, 2022, I’m visiting again and this time my family tried them as well. Same great quality and taste I enjoyed a year ago. This time I had horchata to drink and a tea made with hibiscus(they were two separate drinks). Y’all please give them a try. They are sooooo worth. I will eat there every chance I get when I go to Cali. Thank you for such amazing food.

This place was the best. Lunch time came around , wanted some Mexican food. Although ,the man was working on his own, took a bit longer to make my Carne asada plate. The wait was worth it, the carne asada was delicious. Guacamole was on point , don't even get me started on the salsa. Definitely, will be my number one stop when I'm out in the area.

While I was living in North park San Diego , this was my most favorite Mexican restaurant spot by far. Their taco birria is second to none and though I’ve tried taco birria at so many other restaurants all over the country, none of them comes close to Yesenia. Will defo come back if I ever get to San Diego.

Yesenia’s serves some of the most delicious and freshest Mexican food in San Diego. I’ve had the fish taco plate a few times now, and each time the quality and freshness have been outstanding, authentic and flavorful. The people are also very kind and care about their customers and the quality of the food they serve. I’m so happy this place is close to my new apartment. Thank you!

The food is quality. You can tell they really care about serving good food. Atmosphere is chill and super clean. The workers are very friendly. I was given a sample of the cucumber lemonade upon arrival. Delicious and refreshing, so I ordered one. I ordered a veggie burrito. I enjoyed every bite. I'll be back to try some meat options and the ice cream soon. Don't think you'll be disappointed if you try this place.
